Hi,

I'm going to Costa Rica on Dec. 31st, 2009 (in two days) with two girlfriends and we are staying in Alajuela our first night... We'd love to find a restaurant or bar or party to celebrate the New Year's... Any ideas??? Thanks in advance and Prospero Ano Nuevo!!!

Leena

Hi Leena, Sorry I have no idea... best to ask at the place you are staying! Have fun.

Long time reader. Also a CR advocate and traveler. Like your blog. However, I firmly believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and that He truly is the REASON for the season! I hope one day you can find it in your heart to accept him as your Savior.

Thank you for sharing that and thank you for reading. I do my best to keep an open mind.

was enjoying your blog until this post. Everyone is entitled to their feelings and beliefs, but wow. I would never be so offensive.

Everyone is entitled to their feelings and beliefs, but... offensive people?

"Not only is it extremely cruel to persecute in this brief life those who do not think the way we do, but I do not know if it might be too presumptuous to declare their eternal damnation." - Voltaire, Treatise on Toleration

Tolerance is one of the most important Christian virtues. If we all practiced this one this one just a tiny bit more, we might not be at war with everyone who disagreed with us. Religious intolerance is the number 1 reason humans slaughter each other.

I believe that practicing tolerance, even in the most seemingly insignificant ways, on a personal website or in talking with my next door neighbor or at the corner store, we might change the world for the better.

Thank you for reminding me.
